There are a wide variety of approaches and modalities covered under the Registered Massage Therapy umbrella. When choosing a massage therapist knowing the treatment modalities they most often use is an important part of insuring you get the care you need and want.
I include fascial (connective tissue) work, deep tissue massage, trigger point release, and muscle energy treatment as my primary modalities. Balancing soft tissue length and tone to relieve pain and restore function are the cornerstones of my therapeutic approach. I have post-graduate training in temporo-mandibular joint dysfunction treatment and connective tissue (fascial) treatment, including the release of post-treatment breast cancer scars.
